Bubble milk tea is a tea-based drink that originated in Taiwan in the early 1980s. This drink has become very popular in the Western culture particularly in the United States. If you saw signs for Gongcha, Vivi, Teazzi and Kung Fu Tea, then you are not alone and these places are becoming a very popular franchise. Extending on its popularity, now you can find the milk tea flavored bread, toast, and ice cream. So naturally, here is a scone idea to keep this popularity going.

  1. 200g flour
  2. 2 teaspoon baking powder
  3. 1 tablespoon sugar
  4. 50g unsalted butter softened
  5. 1/2 cup milk
  6. 1 black tea bag
  7. 2 eggs

  • Heat up milk until steam not boiling
  • Cut the tea bag opened and dispense the tea in to the heated milk. Then put it into refrigerator to cool down
  • In a bowl, mix flour, butter, and baking powder thoroughly using hands
  • Add milk tea into dough and knead with 1 egg together (the dough is little wet and it is normal)
  • Saran Wrap the dough in square shape and put it freezer for 30 minutes
  • On a cutting board, place some flour and place the dough and then use rolling pin to roll the dough flat until 1/2 inch thick
  • Preheat air fryer at 350F for 5 minutes
  • Use round cookie cutter to cut the dough into individual rounded shape (you can choose any shape your like)
  • Stir one egg in bowl and brush coat the top of each dough
  • Place dough into air fryer and cook at 350F for 15 minutes
